IMpact Adopted

Ohio Has Enacted the IMpact!

Ohio helped set the pace for multistate licensure! On June 21, 2024, Governor Mike DeWine signed SB56 into law, making Ohio the second state to adopt the Interstate Massage Compact (IMpact). The bill was championed by Senator Kristina Roegner with strong bipartisan support from 20 co-sponsors, demonstrating a shared commitment to strengthening the massage therapy profession.

By joining the IMpact, Ohio opens the door for licensed massage therapists to practice more easily across participating states — reducing administrative barriers, improving license portability, and expanding opportunities for both therapists and employers.

The compact becomes active once it has been enacted by seven states. For more information, please email info@massagecompact.org or visit massagecompact.org to learn more.
