Nevada Has Enacted the IMpact!

Nevada led the way! On June 12, 2023, Governor Joe Lombardo signed SB161, making Nevada the first state to enact the Interstate Massage Compact (IMpact). The bill was sponsored by Senators Scheible, Harris, Spearman, Cannizzaro, and Seevers Gansert, whose leadership helped launch this historic multistate licensure initiative.

By becoming the inaugural IMpact state, Nevada set the foundation for a modernized system that allows licensed massage therapists to practice across participating states with greater ease and flexibility. The compact improves license portability, reduces administrative burden, and expands opportunities for therapists, employers, and the communities they serve.

The compact becomes active once seven states have enacted it.
