Arkansas Has Enacted the IMpact!

Arkansas has officially joined the growing movement to expand professional mobility for licensed massage therapists. On March 12, 2025, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed HB1217 (Act 267), making Arkansas the third state to enact the Interstate Massage Compact (IMpact). The legislation was championed by Representative Jason Nazarenko and Senator Dave Wallace.

By adopting the IMpact, Arkansas supports a streamlined pathway for qualified massage therapists to practice across state lines. Once fully implemented, the compact will allow participating-state licensees to obtain a multistate license, reducing administrative burdens and enhancing workforce flexibility for therapists, employers, and communities.

The IMpact will go into effect when seven states have enacted the compact. For more information about the Interstate Massage Compact, visit massagecompact.org or contact info@massagecompact.org.
