Big Sky Country just made a big move! On April 16, 2025, Montana officially became the 5th state to adopt the Interstate Massage Compact (IMpact), adding major momentum to multistate license mobility in the massage therapy profession. Senator Willis Curdy championed the legislation, SB 233, which is now law.

By joining the IMpact, Montana is helping pave the way for massage therapists to more easily practice across state lines—reducing administrative barriers and supporting a modern, mobile workforce. The compact enhances professional opportunities for therapists, strengthens employers and spas, and expands access to quality massage services for the public.

With Montana on board, the movement toward a national multistate license continues to grow. The compact will become active once seven states have enacted it.For more information, please email info@massagecompact.org or explore massagecompact.org to learn more about how the IMpact works.
